In 2000, Mt. Airy USA and The Business Center created the Enterprising Woman Business Plan Competition. The Competition supports female entrepreneurs and woman-owned businesses in the Greater Philadelphia region with the tools they need to launch, improve and grow their businesses.

The competition provides women with the tools they need to launch, improve, and grow their businesses. They may compete for up to $10,000 in cash, and additional prizes should they choose to place their business on Mt. Airy ’s Germantown Avenue corridor. In order to qualify, one must be a small to mid-sized businesses earning less than $250,000 in annual revenue.

At the kick-off event gives women the opportunity to meet with administrators, network with other small businesses, and to learn more about writing and submitting business plans for consideration. The competition consists of three categories - Retail, Restaurant and Service. A winner will be selected for each category and each will receive a cash grant as well as technical assistance, business supplies and services.
