The Avenue Project’s Promotions Committee recently merged with the Mt. Airy Business Association’s Communications Committee. This larger committee’s mission is:

To promote Mt. Airy’s commercial corridor as an exciting community meeting and gathering place by increasing visibility, businesses, restaurants, and historic and entertainment attractions along the corridor.  The focus is on special events, retail promotions and image development.  

Spotlight: Mt. Airy Restaurant Guide- The Avenue Project’s Promotions Committee released Mt. Airy ’s first ever restaurant guide last summer. This 24-page fare directory is a complete restaurant guide and listing, with information on parking, pricing and other diner-friendly features along with coupons from various establishments. The guide was developed as a promotional and marketing tool to attract both restaurant-goers and also potential restaurateurs and merchants. One restaurant reported a 10% increase in business within the first two months of the guide’s release.
