Spotlight: Darryl McCullers - Darryl McCullers wanted to own a home, and in September 2000 he turned to Mt. Airy USA for assistance. He enrolled in the six-week Homebuyer’s Club program, and one of our housing counselors worked with him to help him map out a workable plan.

Like many first-time homebuyers, Darryl had outstanding debts. His housing counselor helped him understand his credit history and gave him guidance in paying down his debt. It took two years, but by the fall of 2002 Darryl was debt-free and even had some savings. He was able to get a mortgage and by December he had found the perfect house in Mt. Airy
